This data will not be merged with other personal data you provide when actively using our website. We collect server logfiles to administer our website and identify and prevent unauthorised access.
We process personal data in logfiles on the basis of Article 6(1) Letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation. This permission authorises the processing of personal data in the controller’s “legitimate interest,” unless overridden by your fundamental rights, fundamental freedoms or interests. Our legitimate interest consists of simplifying administration and identifying and tracing hacks. What Are IP Addresses?
IP addresses are assigned to any device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, PC) connected to the Internet. Which IP address this is depends on your device’s Internet connection. This may be an IP address assigned to you by your Internet service provider, e.g., when you connect to the Internet at home via WiFi. Or this may be an IP address assigned by your mobile service provider or the IP address of a public or private WiFi or another Internet access provider. In its currently most common form (IPv4), an IP address consists of four octets. As a private user, you will not normally use an unchanging IP address because your provider will assign you an IP address temporarily (so-called “dynamic IP address”). A permanently assigned IP address (so-called “static IP address”) makes identification through user data easier. However, except to trace unauthorised access of our Internet offer, we do not use such data for personal identification, but merely to assess which of our websites are favoured, how often they are accessed daily, etc., on an anonymised basis.
Our website supports new IPv6 addresses. If you already have an IPv6 address, please note: An IPv6 address consists of eight octets. Like for an entire IPv4 address, the first four octets are normally assigned to private users dynamically. However, the last four octets of an IPv6 address (so-called “interface identifiers”) are determined by the device you use to browse our website. Unless configured differently by your operating system, the so-called MAC address will be used for this. The MAC address is a kind of serial number assigned once to every IP-ready device. We therefore do not save the last four octets of your IPv6 address. We generally recommend activating the so-called “privacy extensions” on your device to better anonymise the last four octets of your IPv6 address. Most common operating systems have a “privacy extensions” function which, however, may not always be preconfigured.
Data Storage Duration
The server logfiles containing the above-stated data will be automatically erased after 30 days. However, we reserve the right to store these server logfiles for a longer period in case of indications of unauthorised access (e.g., attempted hacks or so-called DDOS attacks).
3. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC (“Google”), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses several “cookies” (see above) to identify your browser. The information generated by cookies on your use of this website will normally be transferred to a Google server in the US and saved there. However, we activated IP anonymisation on this website which means that Google will first shorten your IP address in a member state of the European Union or in another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptions will your full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the US and shortened there. Google uses this information to assess use of this website, compile reports about website activity and provide services related to Internet usage on for the website operator on our behalf. The IP address transferred by your browser by Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. For exceptions in which personal data may be transferred to the US, Google subjected itself to the EU-US-Privacy Shield Framework, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.
We base the processing of personal data by Google Analytics on Article 6(1) Letter a of the General Data Protection Regulation. This permission authorises the processing of personal data with the data subject’s consent. You may prevent the transmission of cookie-generated data (including your IP address) on your use of our website at any time, even after granting your consent, by withdrawing your consent. Simply click on “Change Cookie Settings” at the top of the website.
Data Storage Duration
Partial erasure of IP addresses prevents any personal identification and only statistical data will be saved.
4. Social Media Plugins
Our website uses the following social media plugins:
Our website uses plugins of the Google-owned page, YouTube, operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. Google subjected itself to the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.
Our website uses plugins of the social network Facebook (provider: Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA). Facebook subjected itself to the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework
When you visit one of our pages, the plugin will establish a direct connection between your browser and Facebook’s server. This will inform Facebook that your IP address visited our page. You may link contents of our pages to your Facebook profile by clicking on the Facebook button while logged in to your Facebook account. This will enable Facebook to assign your visit to our pages to your user account. Please note that we do not receive information about the content or use by Facebook of the transmitted data. For more information, please see Facebook’s Data Policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
Whenever you open a page that features an Instagram component (Instabutton), the respective Instagram component will automatically prompt the Internet browser on your IT system to download an image of the respective component from Instagram. This technical procedure will inform Instagram about which specific subpage of our Internet page you visited.
We base the processing of personal data when using social media plugins on Article 6(1) Letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation. This permission authorises the processing of personal data in the controller’s “legitimate interest,” unless overridden by your fundamental rights, fundamental freedoms or interests. Our legitimate interest consists of providing social media features to you. This requires transferring data to social media providers. To allow you to decide whether to transfer your data, we refer to the so-called “2-click solution,” through which social media plugins remain inactive and only transfer data to social media providers after you “activate” the plugins by clicking on them. You may therefore decide whether your data will be transferred.
Data Storage Duration
We do not save data when transferring personal data to social media providers. For the storage duration and erasure periods of the social media providers, please see the policies of the respective providers linked above.
5. Email Information
If you register on this website, we may occasionally send you current information about the dual systems initiative to the email address you used for registration. You may object to the use of your email address for receipt of such information at any time and at no cost other than transmission fees under the basic rate. Simply send an email to: login(at)mülltrennung-wirkt.de.
We send emails and process related data on the basis of Section 7(3) of the German Act Against Unfair Competition [Gesetz gegen den unlauteren Wettbewerb, UWG] and Article 6(1) Letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation which permit the processing of personal data as part of the controller’s “legitimate interests,” unless overridden by your fundamental rights, fundamental freedoms or interests. Our legitimate interest consists of informing interested persons about the dual systems initiative. You may object to this data processing at any time. Simply send an email to: login (at)mülltrennung-wirkt.de.
Data Storage Duration
Personal data stored for email communication will be erased if you no longer wish to receive emails from us and if there is no reason to believe that the data stored in relation to this email communication will be relevant again in the future.
